Hiking Lodge
12 km south of Antsirabe, the track joins the village of Ibity known for its cement works (Holcim), then the track continues for ten km plunging into the valley of multi-storey rice fields.
2,300 people live in the five villages of this valley dominated by the imposing mass of the Ibity mountain (2248 m), the country’s fourth peak.
We built this hiking lodge there to allow walkers to discover the surroundings and the top of the mountain.
ECO ETHICS & COMFORT
THE COTTAGE
The main body of the building in earthen architecture and thatched roof (bosaka) houses a lounge area, kitchen and dining room on the ground floor and 4 dormitory bedrooms upstairs.
Each dormitory room has four bunk beds equipped with mosquito nets and impeccable bedding (sheets and duvets).
2 toilets and 2 showers, we provide hot water for the “post-hike” shower.

THE DINING ROOM
Dining room with 16 place settings and neat kitchen (starter, main course, dessert).
Bar-dancing pergola terrace in front of the landscape. Musical entertainment with the village brass band.
Our choice of lighting is the “kerosene lamp” for the retro charm of the dining room, headlamps upstairs.
HEALTH, EDUCATION, CRAFTS
Ecotourism also means development and sharing. Taking it “to the letter”, we collaborate with the “fokontany” and our various work sites 2011-2012-2013 made it possible to repair the school and to provide it with a toilet block and running water which did not exist (no shower among the inhabitants, so the school plays a fundamental role in health education through hygiene).
Our major construction site in 2013 enabled us to rehabilitate the access track from Ibity to open up the village to Antsirabe.
We provide special assistance to the village dispensary (CSB2) by providing it with medical equipment and medicines. Your medication donations are welcome. During the 2014 construction site, the dispensary was completely repainted.
